Sinai Academy #2

2006 - The Berkshires, MA, USA

A private Jewish day school is formally developed using the conceptual underpinnings of Hebrew writings and teachings. Just as original Hebrew texts have been surrounded over time by commentary from members of the faith, the idea for this project is developed as a series of spaces for the public that surround and embrace the programmed spaces of the school itself. The separations between the public spaces and the learning spaces are defined by ‘cuts’ or skylights, that allow for the introduction of light and vertical expanse.
