Retail Display

2006 - New York, NY, USA

The project’s challenge was one of creating a branded space without walls. The client required a display system that could operate within the context of an open retail area in the Time Warner Center in Manhattan. Taylor and Miller devised a system of ‘pods’ that would open during business hours, displaying the merchandise within the organizational framework of the different jewelry ‘lines’. After business hours the pods could be closed and secured without the need for secondary merchandise storage. When the pods are closed, they operate as sculptural objects that are lit from within; maintaining a presence that does not convey a sense of ‘closed’.

The pods can be configured in a number of different ways, allowing for spaces that range from partially or completely enclosed, to spaces that create a single wall of retail display.
