Permanent Art Installation

This commissioned sculpture, designed and fabricated by Taylor and Miller, is 3’x3’ in width, and is made up of a network of 800 vertically oriented 32’ long linear elements. The linear elements are a composition of monofilament and manila roap, knotted together at each material joint. In order to design and fabricate the piece, a computer model of a solid ‘sculpted’ object is intersected with a grid of vertical lines; where these objects intersect determine the location of the larger linear elements that render the solid object when hung closely together.
