Cornucopia Furniture Collection - 2013 New York, NY, USA

Architect: Taylor and Miller Architects

This furniture set was designed and fabricated by Taylor and Miller for a private client in NYC. The set includes a bed with integrated storage and two dresser units; one vertically oriented and the other horizontally oriented. The pieces are each eroded at certain areas into what we call cornucopia; gradually compressing spaces that collapse inward into the units. For us, this introduction of space within the furniture units themselves allows for a sense of spatial continuity and complexity in the otherwise compressed context of a bedroom.

All of the furniture pieces are backlit, allowing them to float in the space separately from the surrounding architectural walls and floors.
