Residence for Art Collectors - 2013
Dallas, TX, USA

Architect: Overland Architects.

Work completed with L'Observatoire with B. Alex Miller as project manager and design collaborator.

The lighting for the project animates the home and the art within it through the passage of time. The lighting concept is based on the fact that the home owners wanted the living spaces to possess a duality. They should be suitable for art display, similar to a gallery context but also have the ability to transform into intimate living spaces when needed. This is achieved through the ambient lighting which actually changes in color temperature throughout the day. Moving from a cool daylight tone during the day to warm at night, a sense of intimacy is brought to the spaces.
